Reindeer Symphony

The "Reindeer symphony"is originally composed in 3D Ambisonics for Ultimafestival, Oslo 2024 commissioned by NOTAM.

This extract in stereo is composed from the clicks the reindeers create in their lower hint legs. Each click has a tone which the "bolero"-rhythm gives an impression of.

The following part is an attempt to recreate the atmosphere in winter time, where one only hear thusands of clicks in the air.
The singing part is a choir of reindeers oral-expressions.

The whole symphony is a mix of both native sounds of reindeers, clicks and oral sounds, which has been ordered in scales of tones to be composed into a classic western symphony format.
